01
As part of the construction of the long-term care center in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, SCV Enercor was responsible for the design, supply, and installation of mechanical systems (plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), electrical systems, control, insulation, and balancing. This design-build project, based on a performance specification and delivered with 50% engineering completion, is targeting LEED environmental certification.
SCV Enercor collaborated with Newfoundland-based engineer to validate and optimize the initial concept. The performance specification was revised to enhance efficiency and reduce costs: reducing power of diesel generators, new electrical distribution, increasing the number of satellite panels to minimize cable lengths, and replacing 2½-inch copper piping with stainless steel, enabling prefabrication in the workshop to streamline installation.
